Another Mother's Prayer
by
R.V. Bey
.

Oh Lord, how did it become
that My children belong to some other one
Who has named
them, framed them and
defamed them.
From inside me I know they came
But somehow they are turned
not to know the
same.
Cycles of viciousness for
such a long time
They forget the reason, they forgot the rhyme.
I did not know if I turned them loose.
They
would be hunted like a golden goose.
They’ve been captured,
they’ve been cooked,
they have fried their Brain.
How do I get them back to being sane?
.
Maybe If
I call them by their name.
Maybe then they’ll
hear my cry,
Maybe then they’ll recognize the Lie
Maybe then they will see
Maybe then they will return to me.
Lord, Lord, Lord, Help me set them free.

My Lion Fire
That is the fire in me.
It leads my way,
tells me what to say
Made some things
I do
Seem over zealous …..to you.
But my Lion Fire
Is the Truth I am in
If I don’t let it roar
I get under my own skin.
Can only imagine what
that may be to some
But I came from this cocoon
And I cannot spin another one.
.
So, I follow my Lion Fire
and it takes me higher.
I fuel it with the breath of my Soul’s Desire.
I cannot be someone else —I can only be me
My Lion Fire is what keeps me free.

To my Brother
- from the Same Mother
by Sister RahsMariah Bey (R.V. Bey)
To my Brother - from the same Mother
Who waited at the womb door --- to be sure
We would be here for each other—just like before.
I trust that will
be our case
When we show up next time in face.
He is the one who understands
and always
been there for me
Making sure I see.
He is my guard and forever will be
at the womb
door—just like before.
